Organizing 2nd year of the CZ/SK Blender conference
Based on last year’s experience and positive feedback on the conference we organized the second year of this event and branded it with a new logo!
A big thanks goes to the co-organizator Blenderkit that also made the event possible to happen ⬡ 🧡
Yes, we shall start earlier
It was decided one and half months before that the event would take place, in the beginning it seemed like a lot of time - it was before realizing what all needs to be done. Booking the venue, contacting the speakers to create a lineup, doing the promo, coming up with merch ideas and finding someone who will print it last minute, arranging food, drinks and the evening programme. If we started two weeks earlier the beer could have been cold. Let’s see whether we´ll remember this next year and really start sooner!
Day D (or B)
Just like last year we prepared the venue ourselves and did all the necessary markings, starting from the ground up. We made sure the merch stall is filled with cool t-shirts and that there is enough snacks and drinks for everybody and most importantly that we brought over the blender logo from our office.
Notice the Blender [back]groundAfter preparing the venue and welcoming the visitors, the lecture hall at the Faculty of Architecture got full and we were ready. Adam, polygoniq CEO starting the conference:
In total, 11 talks were prepared, with a variety of topics such as game development, architecture, art, VFX, add-on programming and development, and visualizations in the automotive industry.
We made sure to record all the talks for those who could not come and posted them on YouTube on the BKON YouTube channel here .
Meeting each other and sharing ideas
Next to the lecture hall, there was a space to meet others and talk. The Blender community is quite pleasant to be around.
In the breaks between the talks, we were proud to offer our merch. We have designed blender-related t-shirts and mugs with everybody’s favorite monkey - Suzanne.
And of course some snacks. Czechoslovak catering (chlebíčky) blended in with the iconic donuts.
After absorbing all the information and meeting new people, we enjoyed a walk together through Prague to Containall in Riegrovy park, with an amazing atmosphere and sunset.
We thank everyone who participated; peers, visitors, speakers, the Faculty of Architecture and Containall.
Looking forward to the future… next year might be even better!
